Seeking Excellent Editor within North America Only - Open
We are a small, professional, independent publisher of 2 business kits (more being written) for the escort industry. This is sold through our website and other book purchasing sites. We value our team members and offer the following:

WHAT WE NEED
Currently we are in need of a motivated, talented, and forward-thinking Sr. Editor who is really really good at editing anything, especially "How To" books or business kits. The tone of the writing is not dry & professional, rather down to earth, easy to understand while still being professional, so we need an editor who can handle that tone.
If you are emotionally dysfunctional, please do NOT respond. We are looking for people who are easy to work with & happy & friendly.
You will be editing long files, handbooks, etc. & we will give you a sample file to edit to test your skill.
You will not be editing erotica or anything similar, but if you are close minded, you aren't suited for this company.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
We will only accept e-mails from individuals that possess the following job-related qualifications:
- you MUST have minimum 5 years editing experience.
- you must know Developmental editing, Substantive editing, & Copy editing. We are not looking for just a proof reader.
- while we aren't looking for a copywriter, we are looking for someone who can plump up areas within the kits where we are selling other products & services.
- you will be working directly with the President who is also the writer. She personally reviews all work and edits the files herself, so these files will go back & forth between the 2 of you.
- you know how to reword without changing the tone.
- you are able to edit without the corporate style. Our President writes in a very down to earth style.
- experience in when to use headings, sub headings etc.
- knows Word Tracking completely & isn't afraid to use it.
- we are seeking an editor who is intelligent & has common sense.
- you MUST have a PC to work off of, or your MAC version of Word won't interfere with our PC Word version, & you know the ins and outs of how to control your MAC so it doesn't cause problems with e-mail etc.
Additionally, in order for us to consider your e-mail, you must meet the following requirements:
- The intellect to understand that although we publish a book that serves to educate on how to establish an adult industry related business, it does not diminish our level of professionalism, nor our ability to run an effective, profitable business, and treat contractors, vendors, etc. with respect.
We also build businesses that are mainstream, all geared towards helping the public. - You are mature, responsible & loyal.
- A minimum of one-year virtual online working experience.
- Be detail-oriented and confident in making suggestions when you see that something may be improved.
- Have the ability to be organized, set and meet deadlines and work independently in a virtual work environment.
- Possess excellent written and verbal English communication skills & you know how to communicate well through the Internet.
- The desire to work in a friendly, down to earth, virtual workplace that applauds innovation and common sense.

- Your best “small business” hourly rate. We will ask you for a flat rate each time we send you a file & depending if your rate is very high, we may have to just take each file one at a time, since each business kit is growing in size one being almost 500 pages.
- A description of your abilities as they relate to our needs without an accompanying resume, as we award contracts based on the ability for a person/company to sell his/her skills without the structure of a resume. It is your responsibility to sell yourself, please don’t assume that we will assume details about you.
- List how many years you have been working virtually online
- How many years you have been editing
- A list of your professional references that can verify your editing abilities.
- List your top three strengths and your top three areas for improvement (everyone has areas for improvement, so you will not be pre-judged by your answer).
