Boycott Private Practice

So I used to watch Private Practice the TV show all the time until a recently aired episode depicted escorts in the worst possible way.

I just couldn’t stomach the fact that they made it seem like all escorts do drugs, get beat up beyond recognition etc.

The last straw for me was when the main character Addison who was a gyno (I can’t remember her exact medical position) & also this girl’s friend, refuses to continue treating the girl because she wanted to continue working as an escort after she had been badly beaten.

Interestingly enough, the writers FAILED to get the cops involved in going after the client for beating the escort in the first place.

Another message to everyone in the escort industry that if an escort is beaten, or the owners of an escort agency is beaten or robbed, the cops look the other way.

The horror of being beaten & then rejected by your own doctor because you are making a choice for your life is horrific.

Most escorts would definitely take time off to heal in many ways, and educate themselves on better security measures. Some would get out of the escort business altogether, but others would continue knowing that this rarely ever happens if you know what you are doing & protect yourself.

The fear tactics & clear judgment that Private Practice has for females who wish to be escorts is just appaling.

They are trying to scare girls out of becoming escorts which does a few things:

  1. the girl still becomes an escort, but lives in fear & therefore draws nasty type clients into her life so she will get abused for sure
  2. she continues to think about it & then judges herself feeling totally worthless for wanting to become an escort. Afraid of being rejected not just by family members, but by doctors & other professionals who have no right to tell people how to live their lives. If she one day in the future goes for it, this self loathing once again turns her world upside down & instead of her escorting career being a mainly positive one, she has nothing but problems from everyone she encounters.

Don’t get me wrong, escorts should NEVER be hurt by a client & most never are, but you take a TV show like this that plays to mainstream society & all of a sudden you put escorts or girls who want to be escorts at risk.

And then they show us that the client gets away with this kind of abuse & so clients think they can get away with it.

I think along with Private Practice’s judgment of abortion, it’s clear the writers of this show are very conservative or religious & yes they attempted to show the left side & attempted to be open minded, but they did a poor job of it in my opinion.

Girls, please don’t learn from this terrible show, all they do is purpetuate guilt, shame, fear & judgement.

That is NOT the frame of mind you want to be in when you go out to work as an escort.
